Your home for your stay could not be better situated, with almost everything you could want or wish to do within easy walking distance of Druid House. A short stroll and you are by the beautiful River Avon, a joy to walk along at anytime of the day or evening. Christchurch town centre, with its wide variety of cafes, restaurants, pubs, and bars is also less than a 10 minute walk.
Not to be confused with its New Zealand namesake, Christchurch really is one of the brightest jewels in Dorset’s crown. Situated between Bournemouth to the West and the New Forest National Park to the East, Christchurch is the most beautiful Market Town you could ever wish to see.
Events and River Avon
In the evening why not take a stroll along the river, and eat at one of the wide variety of restaurants, and historic Pubs.
Christchurch also hosts many fabulous events throughout the year, including the famous Christchurch Food Festival in May, the Christchurch Regatta and fireworks in August.
Beaches & Coastline
Dorset is renowned for its beautiful and magnificent coastline. Miles of Sandy Beaches, excellent water quality for swimming, sailing and boating, and of course within easy reach of Christchurch the World Heritage Jurassic Coast.
Within a short drive, or even a walk from Druid House your coastal options are numerous depending on what you want to do. If a family day on a sandy beach appeals why not try Avon Beach or Mudeford Spit with its famous multi coloured beach houses. This can be easily accessed on a short ferry ride from Mudeford Quay.
Another great option is to get out on the water. There are a number of operators in and around Christchurch who offer boat and kayak hire.
If history is your interest there is history in abundance with the landmark Priory Church dating back to 1100s and castle in the middle of the town. Did you know that smuggling was once a thriving industry here too!
For nature lovers Stanpit Marsh nature reserve is a must see with an abundance of bird life.
